Be warned that you will not get the Ultra brand of Duracell. If you go to their website (Duracell) you will readily see that the standard Coppertop are inferior to the Ultra type. The standard Duracell AAA batteries are model MN2400 whereas the Ultra are model number MX2400.

PowerUP Battery Charger for AA and AAA Batteries with (4) High Capacity AA truCELL 2700 series Rechargable Ni-MH batteries

The four AA rechargeables alone are worth the price. The charger is primitive--no automatic shutoff, no on/off switch, no labeling telling you which slots to use if you are charging only two batteries--but it works.
It took me a few minutes to realize that there was a plastic film that needed to be removed from the contacts on the charger before it would work.

Duracell 67487 - AAA Cell NiMH Rechargeable Battery 4 Pack (DC2400B4N) Review

Duracell 67487 - AAA Cell NiMH Rechargeable Battery 4 Pack (DC2400B4N)
Average Reviews:

OK. So notice most of the complaints are about the shipping time not the quality of the product.
Ordered 3/26 received in two days with prime.
As others have mentioned these are 900mAh batteries.
Ran the 4 cells through a few charge-discharge cycles on a BC-900 charger (also a good product available here). All of the batteries tested above 900mAh. 902, 926, 928, and 937mAh. This is with only a few cycles on them so it might creep up later but should not be much.
This is better performance than less expensive brands (ultralast, etc.) Those seem to test at only about 50% of the cells above the stated capacity, although they are often at least 85% of listed capacity.
Just my experience, with a small sample size. Choose which is best for you.
Would be 5 stars but could be a bit less expensive. Only a minor complaint.
Update 8/2/06
Used these in a GPS unit and MP3 Player mainly. Probably have been recharged around 10x each. Retested now they are at 900, 924, 930, and 932. so not much change

Duracell Mobile Charger With 2AA And 2AAA Pre Charged Rechargeable Nimh Batteries, CEF23DX4N Review

Duracell Mobile Charger With 2AA And 2AAA Pre Charged Rechargeable Nimh Batteries, CEF23DX4N
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Duracell Mobile Charger (CEF23) is an extremely versatile charger. It actually has two operating modes, as selected by the MODE button:
1. As an AA/AAA NiMH battery charger, or
2. As an USB charger for USB-powered devices.
In battery-charger mode, the unit is a smart charger that accepts 1-4 AA/AAA cells in any combinations. The charger can be powered by either 100-240V universal AC input, or 12V DC input. This means you can also operate it from your vehicle's cigarette lighter adapter. Note that the car adapter is included in the CEF23DX4N, but not in the CEF23DX2.
The charging current is 550mA for each AA/AAA cell. So it takes about 4 hours to full charge up the included 2000mAh low-self-discharge cells (which are the Duracell-equivalent of Sanyo eneloop). I consider this a good compromise between shorter charging time and longer battery lifespan. Once charging is done, the current is reduced to 25mA (actually 0-50mA pulsed at 50% duty cycle) in trickle charge mode.
One really nice feature of this charger is that it has four individual battery status indicator lights. The status light for each cell turns RED when charging, GREEN when the cell is fully charged. It will even blink if you accidentally inserted an alkaline cell.
In USB charger mode, the unit generates a regulated 5-volt supply at its USB socket. You can then connect an USB-powered device (such as IPOD charger) to this unit. Input power for this USB charger can be from one of the following sources:
1. From 100-240V universal AC input,
2. From 12V DC input (car adapter), or
3. From four AA/AAA NiMH cells in the battery compartment.
The third way is the most interesting, because in case of emergency, you can even use 4 alkaline cells to power this USB charger, in order to charge up your cell phone's battery.
I must say that this charger is really well designed. It is a great bargain even if all you need is a simple battery charger. The USB charger mode is just an extra bonus.
[Update on Oct 7, 2010]:
Duracell has discontinued the excellent CEF23 charger (at least in the US) last year. So prices for the remaining inventory have skyrocketed. The replacement product (Duracell Go Mobile Charger) only charges in pairs, and does not contain an USB charger.
- If you just need an inexpensive 2-cell charger that can handle individual cell, consider the Sanyo eneloop MDR02.
- If you need a good 4-cell charger that can operate from 12V cigarette lighter adapter, consider the Targus LCD2700 with LCD Display
- If you need an advanced charger that can operate from 12V CLA, consider the La Crosse Technology BC500
- If you need a good 4-cell charger that can operate from 12V CLA _and_ can power an USB port using internal batteries... Sorry! Your best hope is to look for an international version of CEF23.
[Update on Dec 1, 2010]
Just in case anyone is still interested in this charger: I recently found out that its USB port is capable of supplying 1000mA output current - even though the spec says 500mA only. I discovered this by accident when using it as a portable recharger for my Archos 5 500 GB Internet Tablet.

Eveready Heavy Duty 1235BP-2 C Batteries (2-Pack)
Average Reviews:

At the time of this review, these are the best deal on Amazon for AAA batteries (unless you buy the 100-pack of another brand). I did the math and figured out that each battery costs 44.5 cents (USD). They are "heavy duty" and last as long if not longer than any other AAA battery. And with a pack of 4 being on sale here, you can decide how many packs you want to equal how many total batteries you want--that is, instead of being forced to buy a pack of 20 or 28 or even 100 batteries in order to get a good deal.

Kirkland Signature AA 1.5V Alkaline Batteries, 48 pack Review

Kirkland Signature AA 1.5V Alkaline Batteries, 48 pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had a great experience with Kirkland (Costco store brand) batteries. Always have gotten them for home and office use, and several sizes, 9V, AA, AAA, but not C or D size so cannot comment about those. Best value for the money as alkalines go, and Costco stands behind them. Besides, Costco also has Duracell Brand next to their brand so one can choose either.
But recently I've gotten into AA and AAA rechargeables as they are most cost-effective and earth-friendly (if you recycle them). There are even rechargeables that maintain their shelf life better than regular Ni-Cad or Ni-Mh and these are specially marked.

These Maxell batteries are alkaline and are of a name brand quality. If you refer to Consumer Reports you will see that with a few exceptions, there is little variation in the life of alkaline batteries of equal sizes between brands. I would recommend these batteries to anyone who does not frequent a Sams Club or Costco: their store brands are a slightly better value.

The battery was exactly what I needed, it was not outdated and arrived quickly. I sometimes find it difficult to locate the right button battery when one is needed; seems there is no rhyme or reason given to battery names. When I open a product to see what is needed, I look up the battery number online and frequently get hits on batteries that do not even come close to resembling the one I have. I am not sure why button batteries have so many different equivalent names, but I have included some below for this battery in the hopes it will help someone else.

Rechargeable NiMH Batteries, 2650mAH, AA size, 8 batteries per pack DC1500 Review

Rechargeable NiMH Batteries, 2650mAH, AA size, 8 batteries per pack DC1500
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Believe the positive reviews of these batteries, they are the best you can buy, and that even means the other brands rated 2700mAh (or more). I have more than 60 of these, I use them in torches, remote controls, wireless mice / keyboards, anything that will take them.
If you have a charger like mine (Maha WizardOne MH-C9000) that will take a capacity reading, do a comparison for yourself against Energizers, generic, chinese cells, anything. And you will find like I did that the Duracells have higher capacity and lower leakage than any high capacity AA cell. After a slow charge, you will find,
Duracells: All read very close to 2650mAh
Energizers: Rarely more than 90% of stated capacity
Others: Almost never their stated capacity. BTY brand bought on Ebay from 'superglobalstore' were abysmal, and measured 800mAh (2500mAh stated)In terms of leakage:
Duracell 2650mAh AA: These hold their charge a very long time, not quite to the Eneloop level but much more capacity and current delivery capability than Eneloop.
Energiser: These are VERY leaky, after a month they are nearly discharged completely, Duracell are still at about 85% capacity.
Others: I have not waited to test but my hopes are not high.Another indication of the quality of these Duracells is their weight. Duracells are 30.4 grams each, Energizers are also good at 29.4 grams. But you try some other cheap brands and they are impossibly light, some at 15 grams or less. If Duracell could make them lighter with the same capacity I am sure they would, so clearly the weight is required to achieve the stated capacity.
To be fair, I had one of these Duracells that leaked severely and was flat in a few days, but the remaining cells (more than 60) all hold charge like champions. I know because I have them in test equipment that hasnt been touched for 12 months and they still fire up nicely. Same with remote controls, which have trivial discharge rate during operation and only need replacement when the cells discharge on thier own.
The Energizers are the closest I could find in quality. They are quite good if you charge them and use them immediately, otherwise they discharge too fast, and are not quite up to their capacity rating either. But they can supply a lot of current quickly for things such as flash units (as can the Duracells).
Unfortunately you get what you pay for with batteries, and Duracell are close to the most expensive, but I find them well worth it.
====================================
IMPORTANT UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wrote the above review about 8 months ago; At the time I felt these were the best batteries available. Recently I needed some more, so I bought another 20 of them. TO MY SURPRISE THEY ARE GARBAGE. The superb ones I got initially are like those pictured here, with a green and black body. The new version ones have a gold top more or less where the green area is in the picture. Its the typical duracell style gold top, but rechargeable and the same capacity.
I dont know why, but the new batteries I bought are VERY leaky and dont hold a charge longer than a week or two. And their discharge rates vary so that some are still half charged when the others are empty. Compare this to the ones I reviewed before, which last in some devices for 12 months or more.
I should mention again that the good ones have the green top and the crap ones have the gold top. I do not know if this is a rule that can be relied upon but I do regret giving folks the impression that all AA Duracell 2650MAh rechargeables are high quality. PLEASE RETHINK BUYING THESE.

Make sure you are reviewing based on the correct product. See following link for the THREE very different Duracell SmartPower devices:
[...]
Duracell Pocket USB Charger with Lithium ion battery / includes universal cable with USB and mini USB,
1) Instant USB Charger - (1150 mAh) USB and mini-USB ports, Up to 35 hours of backup power. Use the cord of a USB, micro-USB, or mini-USB device to plug into the Instant Charger's appropriate ports.
2) Powerhouse USB Charger - (2000 mAh) Can charge two devices at once, Up to 60 hours of backup power USB port and swinging mini-USB arm. Use the cord of a USB or micro-USB device to plug into the Powerhouse Charger's USB port.
3) Pocket USB Charger - (500 mAh) Up to 15 hours of backup power. Swinging mini-USB arm.
The last one (#3) is the device you should be reviewing. Which according to duracell is only 500 mah which is great for extending your portable electronics runtime because it is compact, light and it fits easily in your pocket. If you want longer run times get the (#1) Instant USB Charger or need to charge 2 devices at once get the (#2) Powerhouse USB Charger.
So please only review the product if you have the correct product info and you know your needs. All three of these devices work well for each of there designed usage.

Ok, first of all, there are batteries for sale in the "Used" section. "Used batteries, what a great deal!"
Back in 1997, I got a sports radio to use in the bathroom during my showers. Everyday (sans vacation days), I used that radio for about 30 minutes. It's the very beginning of January of 2006, and the batteries died last night. How freakin' unbelievable is that? These suckers really do keep going and going and going.
