10 390 / 389 Energizer Watch Batteries SR1130SW Cell Review

10 390 / 389 Energizer Watch Batteries SR1130SW Cell

The 389/390 series of cells differ only in chemistry. Today, combined products are offered to save on model numbers. I believe the 390 is the silver oxide chemistry while the 389 is an alkaline battery with the same dimentions. It, however, will die 10 times faster than the 390.
I verified these cells are silver-oxide - about the longest lasting formulation you can find. They are nominally 1.55 volts as a result but this batch tested 1.62 volts.
The application for the silver oxide chemistry is small circiuts that need to run for a long time with a stable voltage. Silver oxide will maintain 1.55 volts until dead, at 1.0 volts. I purchased these to replace the LOC8TOR Plus Pack brickhouse locator tabs which had been running for 2 years on the factory 390 cells.
Buying in the 10 pack certainly gets the cost down. My local watch shop charges the same for 10 of these for a single cell.
If your device uses the 389 or 390 cell, this will be the longest lasting option for you.

Energizer Watch/Electronic/Specialty Battery, A76 (A76BP) Review

Energizer Watch/Electronic/Specialty Battery, A76 (A76BP)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The battery was exactly what I needed, it was not outdated and arrived quickly. I sometimes find it difficult to locate the right button battery when one is needed; seems there is no rhyme or reason given to battery names. When I open a product to see what is needed, I look up the battery number online and frequently get hits on batteries that do not even come close to resembling the one I have. I am not sure why button batteries have so many different equivalent names, but I have included some below for this battery in the hopes it will help someone else.
A76 equivalent batteries: 1128MP, 1166A, AG13, D76A, G13A, GPA7, GPA76, LR44, LR1154, L1154, PX675A, PX76A, RPX675, S76, V13GA, 357A, RW82, KA, A76, 208-904, SB-F9, G13-A, CA18, CA19, LR44, A-76, 76A

Energizer 371 or 370 Button Cell Silver Oxide SR920SW 5 Watch Batteries Review

I got five of these tiny batteries for what one battery would cost me at a local discount chain store. The service was excellent and speedy. I have no idea what the shelf life is on these batteries. At the rate of one battery every two years, I'll find out in 2018 or 2019.

CR2032 Energizer Lithium Batteries (1 pack of 5) Review

CR2032 Energizer Lithium Batteries (1 pack of 5)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Don't expect to receive what you see in the image. I got the batteries. Each single battery is in a separate small sealed molded plastic piece. It is sort of like taking the image of the six and cutting between each battery to make them all separate. They do all have the Energizer logo on them and say "ECR2032 3V Lithium". I bought another ECR2032 that is listed here on Amazon and it came in the same form from the same vendor, in the same box. I suppose the packaging is not really a huge deal, it is just I don't understand why they can't say we won't get what we are seeing; "Image is a stock photo only. Packaging may be different."
I have only used one of the batteries so far, but it worked right out of the package. I haven't had them long enough to know if they are long lasting. I will find out soon enough I am certain. :-)

Energizer-Eveready 00916 NH22NBP Rechargeable Battery Review

Energizer-Eveready 00916 NH22NBP Rechargeable Battery
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
All rechargeable battery manufacturers love to boast about their product's current capacity (mAh). But there is a dirty little secret that they don't want you to hear: self-discharge rate. Simply put: a fully charged NiCd or NiMH cell will gradually lose its stored energy over time. Technical papers I have researched typically put the self-discharge rate at 10-20% per month for NiCd cells, and 20-30% per month for NiMH cells. This kind of self-discharge rate is usually acceptable in applications such as digital cameras.
I bought 8 of those Energizer 2500mAh rechargeable NiMH batteries over one year ago. At first, I was very happy about the large current capacity offered by those batteries. But within a few months, I started to notice that they die very quickly in my digital camera. In fact, a set of Sony 2300mAh NiMH batteries I bought one year earlier seems to last much longer when used in the same camera.
I recently did some controlled experiments (using the LaCrosse BC-900 AlphaPower Battery Charger) and found out what's wrong: The Energizer NiMH batteries have very high self-discharge rate. After fully charging all 8 cells and left them on the shelf for one week, five of them lost over 30% of their charge, and the other three lost about 20%. In comparison, the set of older Sony batteries only lost around 10% over the same one-week period.
So what this really means is: if I charge up those Energizer 2500mAh batteries and leave them in my camera for three weeks, they will become totally exhausted. I found this kind of self-discharge rate completely unacceptable, therefore I strongly advise against buying those batteries.
[Update on April 9, 2007]
I have hardly used those Energizer 2500mAh cells in the last few month. Now they have deteriorated even further. Five of them can't even hold their charges for more then a day.
Instead of the Energizer 2500mAh cells, I recommend buying the Rayovac "Hybrid" 2100mAh cells. They have very low self-discharge rate (see my review on "RAYO 4PK AA") and are cheaper than the better-known Sanyo eneloop 2000mAh cells. Kodak also sells a "Pre-Charged" NiMH cell with exactly the same spec as the Rayovac Hybrid.
The bottom line: Low-Self-Discharge NiMH cells are your best choices. There is absolutely no point in taking chances with older generation 2500-2700mAh NiMH cells now.
[Update on Oct 20, 2010]
The product image of Energizer Rechargeable AA has changed. It no longer advertises '2500mAh'. I went to my local W*mart to check out the actual batteries. All Energizer rechargable AA cells are now 2300mAh. Evidentially, Energizer has 'rollled back' battery technology to 2004. This is actually a good move because the lower capacity cells do not suffer from hideous self-discharge rate. Contrary to popular belief, a 2300mAh cell is not any less capable in delivering high power than a 2500mAh cell. Just that the run time will be about 8% shorter.

Because of temperature extremes in the car Lithium is the only type of battery I'll use in my accessories. Other types end up leaking. I also like the long storage for seldom used applications. I want them ready when I need them.

Just Once - Energizer One Multivitamin Review

Just Once - Energizer One Multivitamin
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love the Rainbow Light brand for the fact that it uses whole/natural ingredients rather than chemicals. I have tried Candida Cleanse (LOVE) and 2 different types of vitamins (Women and Energizer). I'm not sure I see a difference in my energy levels when taking these Energizer One multivitamins. I do like the amounts of vitamins in them, so I know they are beneficial in that regard.
I also like the Rainbow Light "Just Once" line. I prefer to only have to take one tablet a day rather than multiple pills each day like others. Granted, the tablet is not small by any means, but I'd still rather only take one.
