(More customer reviews)Like most users of GU, I run marathons. I chose this package because I wanted to find a flavor that I could stomach later in a race and this let me experiment. This package has eight separate flavors: orange, vanilla, espresso, berry, lemon-lime, chocolate, banana, and plain. I won't comment on the taste because that is an individual preference, however, I do prefer GU to Clif Shots, which to me are pastier and harder to get down without a good amount of water.

Hammer Nutrition Perpetuem Solids - 12 Tubes Review

(More customer reviews)These work great for fueling during a long run. However, they are extremely dry and kind of chalky. This makes them more difficult to get down than the gel, but I believe their benefits offset that difficulty. The taste is rather bland which I think is actually a benefit. Sometimes it's hard to choke down extremely sweet or flavorful items. Overall, I'd recommend these to those involved in extensive endurance exercise.

If you take one every 45 minutes, your energy level stays constant throughout the run. The Strawberry Banana flavor is also very tasty.

(More customer reviews)Clif shot bloks are an excellent way to replenish your body with some carbs if you're on a long run (> 1 hr). I tried some of the gels and I just didn't like the taste or their stickiness; clif shot bloks were the answer for me. They taste great, you eat 3 blocks of them every 40-60 minutes, and chase them with water. They kind of remind me of gummy bears - they taste just as yummy, but they are not as chewy so are easier to eat when running.

After using this for a few days straight, the pain would lesson considerably. Then when I stopped, the pain came back to the level that I had before using the product. My doctor says that there is no problem taking it continuously and I have found that if I simply take it daily then I get the most consistently nice results. I hope it works for you too.
