Rayovac NM713-2 Rechargeable NiMH D Batteries (Two-pack) Review

Rayovac NM713-2 Rechargeable NiMH D Batteries (Two-pack)

Be careful when shopping for rechargeable batteries! The Rayovac (and Energizer) products have the same Amp-Hour capacity as a "AA" battery! Do a little web searching and you'll find the Energizer is really an AA-sized cell in a "D" package - but sells for much more! I can't speak to the inner construction of the Rayovac, but it has a capcity of 2200 mAh -- definitely in the AA range (in fact, somewhat low for a good rechargeable AA these days). If you want the power capacity that a "D" size package should give you, look elsewhere -- the capacity should be in the 10,000+ mAh range.

The high-capacity, 1800 mAH Rayovac NM713-2 Rechargeable NiMH D Batteries last up to three times longer in digital cameras than standard alkaline, and can be recharged up to 500 times. That means more shots on a single set of batteries, not to mention thousands of dollars in savings on batteries for your high-drain digital still camera. Plus, with Rayovac NiMH batteries, there are no "memory" problems -- recharge your Rayovac batteries any time, even if they are only partially drained.
Usage Tips
Always charge NiMH batteries before first use
For maximum performance, charge batteries prior to using if stored for more than one month
Charge in any Rayovac NiMH Battery Charger (Note: older Rayovac Renewal rechargeable alkaline power stations or battery chargers do not charge NiMH batteries)
NiMH batteries can be disposed of with regular trash -- NiMH is safe for the environment
What's in the Box One two-pack of Rayovac NM713-2 Rechargeable NiMH D Batteries (two total batteries).

Sanyo 1,000 mAh AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (4-Pack) Review

Sanyo 1,000 mAh AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (4-Pack)

These are very good batteries. I charged those in my La Crosse BC-900 Charger. The following were the results after first charge.
The four AAAs rated 1000mAh nominal (min 930mAh), all come out above 1000mAh, but very close to 1000mAh. I used the discharge setting of 100mA and charge at 200mA. (Those who use the BC-900 will know what I am talking about).
The four AAs rated 2700mAh nominal (min 2500mAh) come out ranging 2.8Ah to 3.0Ah. I used the discharge setting of 250mA and charged at 500mA.
I just started to use these batteries and do not know long term reliability. So far I am very happy with them.

Powerex AAA HEAVY-DUTY 1000mAh Rechargeable NiMH Batteries - 2 Batteries Per Pack Review

Powerex AAA HEAVY-DUTY 1000mAh Rechargeable NiMH Batteries - 2 Batteries Per Pack

When I received the batteries I charged them in my MAHA powerx charger. I ran it on the break in cycle which charges and discharges a number of times to charge the battery to the optimun voltage. One battery charged to 900mah. The other only charged to 750 mah. Did the break in charge 2 more times. still the same. Guess I got a bum battery. They work ok but when used as a pair I will only get 750 mah out of the set. The weakest battery determines the output of the pair.

Energizer Overnight NiMH Battery Charger Review

Energizer Overnight NiMH Battery Charger
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Sold at Sams with 8 AA and 4 AAA batterys. The clue about how this charger works is in the instruction sheet: "Note: If the unit is unplugged or power is interruped during the charging cycle, the time will start over and run the full charge cycle." and "The charger is designed to charge AA NiMH batteries (maximum capacity of 2500 mAh) and AAA NiMH batteries (maximum capacity of 850 mAh) For lower rated capacity batteries simply remove the batteries before the charge cycle is complete based on the following charge time." (table of approriate charge times is listed)
In other words this charger doesn't sense overcharge because it only has a timer. After 8.5 hours the charger turns off. Period, end of details. Why do you think this Energizer battery charger is so cheap? Now you know.
