(More customer reviews)First of all, slow growth has never been my problem, thin growth has been, which was why I decided to try this product. I found out about it on a hair forum when I was researching sulfate free shampoos and thought, "What the heck." I've been using this shampoo for a couple of months now and so far I'm pleased with the results. I have type 4a hair (with 3c to the back) and I'm happy with how this shampoo performs.
My roots are thicker and fuller since I've started using this and I'm able to maintain body after having a relaxer now; before my hair was limp and flat for weeks after.
It doesn't dry out my hair which is a plus, but I recommend you follow up with a good moisturizing conditioner if you're hair type 4 (sorry types 1-3b, I wish I could help). Also, if you're looking for a good lather, this isn't the product for you. Keep in mind though, that just because a product lathers doesn't mean its good for your hair. Sulfates lather extremely well but are super harsh on hair.
The instructions say leave it on for a while, so please make sure you do it so the product can do its work and make your scalp tingle. I shampoo rinse and leave the second shampoo to sit before I rinse and move on.
I'm happy to report that shedding is way down and breakage is at an all time low thanks in part to this shampoo. (I won't be trying the conditioner however because it's a daily conditioner, which makes me nervous as a black woman.)
Use this as part of a regimen for best results, don't rely on this product alone. Tailor it to your hair needs.
