Energizer Silver Oxide Batteries 357 - 9 ct. Review

Energizer Silver Oxide Batteries 357 - 9 ct.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The 357 cell made in silver oxide chemistry (like this one) has the highest capacity of about 200 mAh and as such it has numerous equivalents including:
AG13
SG13
LR44
LR154
A76
S76
157
303
LR1154
SR1154
1166A
1107SO
1131SOP
SR44 (size name)
Since the silver oxide cell contains more power than the alkaline or MnO2 cells it is a universal replacement for all of the above cells, so having silver oxide 357 cells on hand will replace ALL of the cells listed above with equal or likely better performance. Also the silver oxide chemistry has a very low self discharge so its not likely that these high quality cells will go dead not being used.
If you wonder why an inferior battery would be made with ~1/2 the power of the silver oxide it is because products can be shipped with these inferior cells dirt cheap, operate for a short while, then require new batteries. The mfgr usually sells the 357 at a high markup down the road and profits on the batteries where they couldn't on the product. Here they are close to a dollar, in watch shops or stores they may be sold for 8-10 dollars PER BATTERY, which if you use the 357 or equivalent sizes in any small device makes it advantageous to keep a card of 9 cells on hand.
These cells are also stacked often - our lab handheld pH meter uses a stack of 4 for ~6V but lasts forever. For $5 we can change all 4 batteries, but running to the store we would pay $32!
Finally, the 357 is not commonly found in watches due to its large size and modern watches low power usage. There are usually 2 batteries for watches that are identical - but one will be able to supply higher power for watches with lamps or other devices while the other is intended for watches that just have a ticking second hand display without any electrical lighting. Here again, the higher power battery turns out to be the better deal since it will run any watch longer without replacement.

I got my batteries just three days after I ordered them and put two in a couple dead watches, and they worked fine. Seems OK to me!
EDIT: Both batteries that I put into watches died after less than a week! Seems like the vendor should check the expiration dates before sending these things out.

Energizer 2025BP-2 Lithium Button Cell Battery (2 Pack) Review

Energizer 2025BP-2 Lithium Button Cell Battery (2 Pack)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Hey fellow athletes. If you are using one of the new coded Polar WearLink chest straps, it has replaceable batteries. This is the one you want, and not the standard CR 2025, which is much more common. The size is just different enough that the CR 2025 will not work (trust me!).
Battery works well (of course- its a Energizer) and the chest strap is working like a charm again. Plus the two pack given you a spare for the future. They are pricey little buggers though.

Energizer ECR2032 Watch Battery Review

Energizer ECR2032 Watch Battery
Average Reviews:

I was skeptical at first from reading the other reviews about how these work better than the lithium-ion ones. I was surprised when they came. It was the new Energizer packaging (not the old yellow style as shown in the picture) and work flawlessly in my devices (key fobs, and garage door openers). These are the lithium-ion ones and the model number on the battery is CR2032 and not ECR2032 (which was the reason I was skeptical at first). Very happy and work great! Well worth it at $1.99!

Duracell Procell AA Batteries, 24-Count Review

Duracell Procell AA Batteries, 24-Count
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These batteries are a very good choice for an inexpensive alkaline. Heavy duty batteries, are not cost effective because although cheaper, they have a very short run time. To get the best bang for your buck, go for alkalines like these.
The "Procell" designation is basically Duracell's way of marking these batteries as ones intended for industrial applications. They make them as a separate line so they won't directly compete with their consumer lines.
My experience is that these batteries do not last quite as long as the top consumer lines from Duracell and Energizer. However, they are within 10-20% (depending on the application), and are considerably cheaper. So, they are much more cost effective.
Unless you are using them in an application where it is difficult to change the batteries, I recommend going with these instead of spending more.

Energizer Rechargeable Batteries, D, 2-Count Review

Energizer Rechargeable Batteries, D, 2-Count
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
All rechargeable battery manufacturers love to boast about their product's current capacity (mAh). But there is a dirty little secret that they don't want you to hear: self-discharge rate. Simply put: a fully charged NiCd or NiMH cell will gradually lose its stored energy over time. Technical papers I have researched typically put the self-discharge rate at 10-20% per month for NiCd cells, and 20-30% per month for NiMH cells. This kind of self-discharge rate is usually acceptable in applications such as digital cameras.
I bought 8 of those Energizer 2500mAh rechargeable NiMH batteries over one year ago. At first, I was very happy about the large current capacity offered by those batteries. But within a few months, I started to notice that they die very quickly in my digital camera. In fact, a set of Sony 2300mAh NiMH batteries I bought one year earlier seems to last much longer when used in the same camera.
I recently did some controlled experiments (using the LaCrosse BC-900 AlphaPower Battery Charger) and found out what's wrong: The Energizer NiMH batteries have very high self-discharge rate. After fully charging all 8 cells and left them on the shelf for one week, five of them lost over 30% of their charge, and the other three lost about 20%. In comparison, the set of older Sony batteries only lost around 10% over the same one-week period.
So what this really means is: if I charge up those Energizer 2500mAh batteries and leave them in my camera for three weeks, they will become totally exhausted. I found this kind of self-discharge rate completely unacceptable, therefore I strongly advise against buying those batteries.
[Update on April 9, 2007]
I have hardly used those Energizer 2500mAh cells in the last few month. Now they have deteriorated even further. Five of them can't even hold their charges for more then a day.
Instead of the Energizer 2500mAh cells, I recommend buying the Rayovac "Hybrid" 2100mAh cells. They have very low self-discharge rate (see my review on "RAYO 4PK AA") and are cheaper than the better-known Sanyo eneloop 2000mAh cells. Kodak also sells a "Pre-Charged" NiMH cell with exactly the same spec as the Rayovac Hybrid.
The bottom line: Low-Self-Discharge NiMH cells are your best choices. There is absolutely no point in taking chances with older generation 2500-2700mAh NiMH cells now.
[Update on Oct 20, 2010]
The product image of Energizer Rechargeable AA has changed. It no longer advertises '2500mAh'. I went to my local W*mart to check out the actual batteries. All Energizer rechargable AA cells are now 2300mAh. Evidentially, Energizer has 'rollled back' battery technology to 2004. This is actually a good move because the lower capacity cells do not suffer from hideous self-discharge rate. Contrary to popular belief, a 2300mAh cell is not any less capable in delivering high power than a 2500mAh cell. Just that the run time will be about 8% shorter.

E2? AAA Lithium Battery Retail Pack - 4 Pack Review

E2 AAA Lithium Battery Retail Pack - 4 Pack
Average Reviews:

I purchased both the Technuity L92BP2 and the Energizer Ultimate L92BP-4 product options. Despite their names, they are both Engergizer Ultimate Lithium AAA batteries. But the Technuity option (L91BP2) is a 2-pack, not a 4-pack as the photo and description indicate. Just be aware of what you are buying!
The price on the 4-pack is the best I found anywhere though. Lithium AAA batteries are much harder to find and pricier than Lithium AA batteries.

A lot of HP calculators use three "LR44" batteries. As the label on this product indicates, this product will replace LR44's. Also my owner's manual lists "357" as an equivalent. I just put them in my calculator and it's working fine. Best thing about this package is that it comes with three batteries--no waste!

Energizer® Rechargeable Batteries & Charger -- 8 rechargeble AA batteries and 4 rechargeble AAA batteries Review

Energizer® Rechargeable Batteries and Charger -- 8 rechargeble AA batteries and 4 rechargeble AAA batteries
Average Reviews:

I have bought 2-3 packs of these batteries, all disappointments. You'd think such a simple thing was basically failsafe, right? Nope. I thought I had just gotten a bad batch the first time. Nope again. The only way I can use these batteries is if I charge them right before I need them. I can't even tell you how many times I went to go play Wii and then realized ALL of these batteries were dead. Even worse was I had charged them fully no more than 2 days prior. Total garbage in my opinion, my brother even had some which all do the same thing as well. So, unless you are extremely organized and plan out when you want to play video games, use TV remotes, etc... spend your money on anything but these. The Energizer bunny has sh** itself and died.

I've done my own un-official testing of Energizer Vs. Duracel on MANY occassions; keeping track of the amount of play-time I could get out of each, while using them in portable Tape Players and C.D. Players over a period of approximately 10 Years. Without question, Energizer wins ........................ PLUS, THE LIL' BUNNY'S JUST PLAIN CUTE! (***My only complaint: I wish they'd make up their minds and CONSISTENTLY put the Testers on ALL of their Battery Sizes!).

AMZ-MIS043 Review

AMZ-MIS043
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought these batteries for my Sony voice recorder which I use 3-5 days in the week for 4 hour lectures. I used to go through regular batteries weekly and I finally decided that it'd be better to just get rechargeable batteries so I wouldn't have to buy new ones and throw them out a week later.
After fully charging these batteries for 2 hours (I have the energizer compact charger for AA and AAA), I took them to my 4 hour lecture and by the end of it, the battery charge was low. I thought I still had more time, so I brought them to my next lecture. Bad idea! The batteries died 30 minutes later and I missed out on 20 minutes of my lecture because I didn't realize that my recorder had turned off.
Each subsequent use of these batteries just got worse and worse. I was charging these batteries everyday and hoping that they wouldn't die before the lecture was over.
These batteries don't last long at all. I'd say they only last for a few hours. I tried using these batteries for 2 weeks, then I finally went and bought the Duracell rechargeable pre-charged batteries as others had suggested. I've been using the Duracell ones for a week of 4 hours lectures, and I still haven't had to recharge them.

AA Ultimate Photo Lithium Battery 24 Battery Bundle Review

AA Ultimate Photo Lithium Battery 24 Battery Bundle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Energizer Lithium is the only battery I use in my digital camera. Lasts longer than others and is worry free. This bundle is a good deal for the dollar, and the selling point for me was the battery cases I saw in the picture. I scrolled down to find out what they were, and the 5th bullet point said: "includes 2 cases to hold your batteries. Each case holds 8 batteries." Great! I can always use battery cases. The box of batteries arrived in exceptional time, 6 cards of 4 each. I looked again, but no cases for my batteries. So I contacted the seller (MTA Trading). Essentially I was told it was Amazon's fault, and that if I looked at this other link I would see a disclaimer saying the item being sold is the batteries only with NO cases. So, if all you want are the 24 batteries, this is still a good deal. If you want the cases, order them separately. And always check the details to make sure there are no disclaimers hiding.

I'm pretty used to buying batteries online and finding they had been made long before I ordered them (had some CR123 with experations the next month from another vendor). In at least my case, my batteries from this vendor show a production date of 3/30/10...and I ordered them on April 18th. You can't get any younger batteries (exp is Mar2016). I'll be checking this distrbutor out for the rest of my battery needs.
