(More customer reviews)I have an endomorph body type (think Oprah and John Goodman). I can put on muscle easily but taking off fat is a huge effort. Even taking a few days off of a fitness routine will show on the scale. That's why I'm always looking for a way to keep up my energy levels. I get to work early so I rarely have the time to workout before hand. And after work, well... we all know how hard it can be to motivate yourself to go to the gym after you've already had a long day.
So taking a supplement that provides me with some additional energy is perfect. I've tried a lot of them and Primaforce's 1,3-Dimethylamylamine is my favorite so far. I used to take ephedrine back when the FDA allowed it. I found that it worked really well for me but it did have some side effects that I didn't like. At times I would get angry for no reason, I would sweat a lot when taking it and my heart rate was all over the board. With 1,3 Dimethylamylamine, it's another story. When I take it I feel GOOD! Happy good. I find myself smiling just because I feel so happy. I'm usually a happy person but not a smile-for-no-reason kind of happy person. And, unlike ephedrine, the energy doesn't hit you all at once and then slowly dissipate. Instead it seems to be a smooth continuous energy for several hours. I haven't noticed any heart rate changes. It may be causing me to sweat more. But only during my workouts and it's really hard to be sure because I was a heavy sweater to begin with. I would not recommend taking it before doing something that makes you anxious (like public speaking).
Some people say that it has helped them with appetite control. I'm not sure what to say about that. I changed my diet at the same time as I started taking it. I haven't felt hungry since I started taking it but that could have something to do with the new diet too. I'm hypoglycemic so I rarely ever get to the point where I feel hungry. Usually, before that happens, I get the cold sweats and the shakes. So appetite has never really factored in to my eating habits. The new diet has me eating every two to three hours so I don' really get a chance to be hungry.
I've been taking it for a little over a month now with my morning coffee and 800 mg of green tea extract. I started taking it to coincide with a new fitness regime. It's helped me stay on track and I've lost 10 lbs so far. It works well for me.
